S5 E6X installed no spark

Just finished installing a E6X and can get no spark. Triple checked wiring to coils and CAS, added grounds yet still no spark.

Anyone have any suggestions??

I noted on another installation that the tan wires to each coil were connected to each other via a jumper wire, is this correct??

First, do you see RPM's on the Haltech?
If you don't, it's the CAS wiring that's screwed.

If you do see RPM's, then it's the outputs to coils.

I see the tach bouncing slightly when cranking and the Hatech is also showing erratic rpms between 100 and 1350. I removed the UIM and the CAS. With the CAS plugged in and power on you can hear LOUD clicking from the injectors, like there firing, when the CAS wheel is spun. No spark.

I have another S5 W/Haltech right next to this one and cross reference wiring, along with the Haltech wiring diagram and different several sets of instructions.

Pull spark plug wires off of spark plug and put it next to a known ground point.
Do you see and hear the arc?

triple check the wiring on the ignitors and the ignition settings in the software.

if you get it to start arcing with a wire going from the leading coil post to a ground, confirming spark, and it still won't fire hte plugs, they are either fouled or wet, since you are getting fuel right now and no spark I suspect your engine has been flooded during all this testing so make sure you get it unflooded and plugs dry before you try to get it running.

Turn the injectors off in the software while you troubleshoot the spark so they don't keep injecting fuel every time you test for spark, that will be some gassy oil.

Also make sure your power leads @ the ignitors are getting power, easy to check with a multimeter. I've even checked the signal wires before with a cheap analog multimeter, just watch the voltage while the CAS spins, if the needle dances at all the haltech is generating the signal to fire the coils.

Already done:

Turned fuel injectors off.

Tested spark using a new plug to ground, nothing. Used a multimeter to verify 12 volts at coils.

Tested resistance of leading coil = .979

Tested plug wire continuity

Now swapping leading coil for know good coil.

Known good coil, no spark.

Tested light green signal wire. Values changed when CAS spun.

Checked other haltech vehicle and cannot hear injectors clicking. Hear LOUD clicking from injectors when turning CAS. Could this be a wiring problem between injectors and ignitors? I've checked all of the wiring 4 times now.

if the signal wire is doing it's thing and there is power to the ignition components, the problem is either the coils/ignitors or your testing procedures. Are you using a good ground when you test for spark, like the negative battery post?

Regrounded the leading coil. Placed spark plug near Neg battery terminal. no sparking.

Did note when turning ignition on I get a single arc spark from empty coil plug wire outlet to frame.

alright I had trouble for six months trying to get my E6X to work in the end it ended up being that the Haltech supplied harness was mipinned I would check it in accordance with the Haltech E6X wiring diagram.... you migh have wired it correctly but if it is mispinned like mine it will not run either.

Okay, if you sure it's wired correctly...

Reset ALL the Haltech settings in Main, Fuel, and Ignition to something other than your current settings.
(Haltech advises you to unplug all fuel injectors and coils when you do this.)
Key Off / Key On

Reset all the settings BACK to your original settings.

Key Off / Key On

Does this work???

what color ignition wires did you send to the ignitors, and what color wires did you hook them up to?

New plugs, new wires.

OK, when the key is turned to the on position there is one spark/arc to ground from the coil pack. afterwards, nothing when the CAS is turned. I have 12 volts at the coil/ignitor and also checked the light green wire to the leading coil, I got 6 volts static, then up to 8 when the CAS is turned. Again, I do have rpm signal from the datalog.

the haltech does that when you turn the key on.

are you positive you put the right wires in the right places for the ignitors?

I've checked the wires 4 times. Even traced them back to the pins on the ECU connector. I'm working with the settings now.

Seems it was the ECU. We swapped it with another and got spark. Then we reset the other ECU with the settings from the new one, and it still would not work.

Car is running now, and with only 4 days worth of troubleshooting....................%#&$#&$#!

I am having similar symptoms. Power to the coils, the CAS shows a signal to the tach, when spining the CAS you can hear the injectors fire, but there is no spark. So i guess it was your ECU that was bad??? did you get it fixed?
