S4 mechanical OMP and E6k TPS success!
Don't know who still runs an old setup like me with this "ancient tech"
I've read about this in the past and people give up and say "premix". The stock OMP lever doesn't like the aftermarket TPS. I was going to do the same thing because I barely drive the car and it wouldn't have been a big deal. I guess I'm weird though, I will buy anything else for the car, but I don't feel like going 5 minutes away to buy premix. I find myself leaving the car sitting for long periods, and then when I actually go to drive it or even let it run for a few I think "ahhh, don't want to go out and buy premix! Eff it, drive the car anyway". Well, I got tired of seeing the OMP rod and nothing attached to it. I went though my boxes of parts and found some oddball pieces I could make this work with.
HAHAH! Success! I used a piece of metal off the stock TB that acts as some sort of stopper for the return mechanism. It fits the butterfly shaft perfect so I bent it up (crudely as you can see). I then drilled a small hole in it. I had a spare OMP that I removed the "cylinder" the operating rod fits into. I drilled a small hole into this piece and found a tiny screw and some tiny washers and fit it all together. It seems to be working! Nothing binds or resists the movement. I think I actually made something work right on this car!
I just posted now, but I have been running this for a while and it's holding together.
