Thumbs up Platinum Sport 1k Base Maps and Page Layouts

Hey folks, I've just completed constructing a few base maps for the Platinum Series (mainly 1000) as well as a finished organizing and zipping up two page layout collections. They're uploaded on my website since I can't upload them here directly:

http://bdc.cyberosity.com/main.php?g2_itemId=9220

The base maps are for 550x550, 550x1680, and 850x1680 injector combinations, all FC3S w/ factory crank angle sensor (CAS) calibrated to stock insertion (just need to zero it out w/ Trigger Angle setting), and mostly stock FC3S ignition with the exception of one map using Direct Fire w/ individual Chevy LS1/LS2 coils. One base map is for an FC3S with entirely stock setup (stock FPR, pump, injectors, CAS, ignition, and stock turbo) and should be a nearly perfect plug-in. Also these maps are setup for GM 3bar MAP sensor but can easily be changed in Main Setup/Inputs to Internal 2.5bar MAP sensor without having to change anything on the map itself.

These base maps use ignition curves specifically for stock and street ported motors only. No half-bridge stuff yet. They also use negative split in vacuum to help add even more low-end throttle response and crispness.

These maps were produced in ECU Manager 1.07.

The page layouts are custom made and are the ones I use on this tuning laptop here. There's two zips for 800x600 and 1024x768 displays including 5 pages: Engine Data Page (to simulate the Gauge/Data Page from the older Haltech versions), Fuel Maps, Leading Ignition, Trail-Split Ignition, and Miscellaneous.

Hopefully this will help out a few folks out there that are new to the Platinum series and need a starting point.

I'll get some FD3S ones made once I've made sure I've got all of the correct trigger and ignition settings.

Trigger angle 65 and offset of 10 is what works on my fd with a ps2000

Is that with it dead-on lined up when the timing is locked? If so, then those two values can be populated to every single FD base map for the Platinum.

It was lined up for me. My timing light is picky about how and when it works, I couldnt get a reading off T1 so I used L1 and locked timing at -20. I want to confirm this with another timing light that lets me use T1 and the more standard -5/15 lock

That's backwards unless you set the timing lock to -20BTDC when you had the timing light's pickup on L1. It should be you'd set Timing Lock to -5 for the pickup on L1 or set it to -20 if it's on T1.

FD timing mark is 20* ATDC. I locked the timing at -20* BTDC (or 20* ATDC) and used L1 for the reference. The way claudio has in his writeup is to use T1 and lock the timing at -5 with 15 split. Should give the same result either way but the motor has a much harder time running at -20 advance than at -5 making the -5/15 and using T2 preferable (potentially more accurate with a smoother running engine?).

The 65/10 might be off by a degree depending on the timing light, I want to confirm with a different light.

Ok, that sounds right.
