OMP removal

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am going Haltec in the near future on my automatic 93 rx7 and want to completely remove the OMP, block it off, remove the oil metering lines and plug them. But I want to do this now with the stock ECU and run pre-mix. What I need to know is :

What wires from the ECU need resistors that go to the OMP ? Wire color codes would be very nice.
Is there anything on the OMP that, after removal, would prevent a block off plate going on ?
What to do with the OM injector holes after removing the lines? What size bolt or plug to install?

I want to do a clean surgery on all the wires and lines as best I can. Anyone who has done this exact same thing, please let me know what you did.

Thanks, Tom

It's not that simple.
There's a feedback signal back to the ECU to confirm the stepper motor is at the correct position.
You could possibly make some uP circuit to mimic this system, but why bother?

I would just block off the OMP hole for now and leave the OMP plugged in to keep the feedback to ECU happy.

If your going to be replacing the factory ECU with a Haltech system, just wait until then to remove the OMP and associated components.

This might be of interest to you, you don't have to pre-mix

Thanks, I've seen the adapter for 2 cycle. I have not got the Haltec yet, but I will need to keep the OMP wires hooked up to resistors or part of the OMP afterward anyway. I am just trying to find a way to eliminate it and keep the stock ECU happy. You see, with an automatic it will probably have to either stay or somehow satisfy the ECU so I can keep the auto tranny satisfied and the hold button. Maybe I can remove the pump and rip it apart and hook the wiring harness back up to whatever sends a signal to the ECU - think this will work ?

Why would you have to keep the OMP after you install the hatlech? The Haltech doesn't need the OMP. Thats why you can premix. I don't know about the 3rd Gens, but on the 2nd gens with auto trannys, the tranny ECU was completely indepent of the engine ECU.

As far as blocking the jets, use an M10x1.25x16mm bolt. You can buy them here:

http://www.boltdepot.com/product.asp...&selected=6174

Be sure to use some sort of washer or spacer under the shoulder so that you can get decent torque without stripping the threads in the housing.

I'm currently looking for an OMP block off plate so I don't have to fab my own. If you find one let me know.

You don't need to put any bolt on the jets, once pump is removed theres
no need to worry.

do you know that the e11 should be able to control the OMP?? You should check it out. Might save you some work and headache.
