Okay, BIG QUESTION TIME. Time to change my Settings.

Hopefully I'll have this ********** powered up this weekend.

I have some questions about what changes I need to make to the settings. I haven't played with a E6K before, so bare with me.

The only sensors I'm running are:

1. AIT
2. TPS
3. Coolant Temp

The car was previously setup for the stock TII TPS, but I've since changed to the GM TPS. What changes do I need to make to the Haltech ?

The car was previously setup for an "Off Brand" AIT, I've now changed to a GM AIT. What changes do I need to make to the Haltech ?

The Coolant Temp Sensor will be mounted in the inlet of the radiator. Will I need to make any changes to the Haltech ?

I'm running (8) 1680 cc injectors, but I'm leaving (2) of those injectors unplugged.

This is how I've wired them up:

Inj1 = 1x1680cc primary front rotor
Inj2 = 1x1680cc primary rear rotor
Inj3 = 2x1680cc secondary front rotor
Inj4 = 2x1680cc secondary rear rotor
Unplugged = 2 x 1680cc

From my understand, this is the only change that needs to be made to the Haltech (Besides obvious tuning).

Go to 'SETUP'--->INPUT/OUTPUT SETUP: or Ctrl-N. Enabled all the extra injector drivers from 1-4.

Is that Correct ?

These are the only things that I can think would need to be changed. What do you guys think ?

Hey Bro

The E6K was made specificly for the GM sensors, no changes needed as there no are calibration changes possible.

normally coolant temp sensors are mounted in the outlet to show the temperature of the engine coolant after running through the engine as opposed to the effectiveness of the radiator which is what it will show mounted in the inlet. It will read lower than actual.

As for the TPS, you just need to zero it.

Well, the coolant temp sensor is being mounted in the hottest part of the radiator which happens to be the top.

So, everything seems okay ?

I'll search around later on how to zero the TPS, I've never done that before.

It must be installed into stock location into water pump body.

Are you running a thermostat? If so placing the sender in the radiator may cause issues. You need it to see engine temp. If you're not running a thermostat and the coolant is circulating at all times then you may be OK.

No other changes will need to be made.

Zeroing the tps is simple, open TPS calibration page, hit start or whatever the hell its called, don't touch the gas, hit the button again, hold it wide open, hit the button again, and confirm the settings.

Also, you're not running a MAP sensor? WTF? haha

i've had e6k on 2 FC's and a couple friends have had it as wekll. the e6k software is about as simple as it gets for EMS as far as i've seen. just play around with the software and everything should be fairly self-explanatory.

Yeah I am, whoops. I forgot to mention that, but it's already setup for the 3bar.

This was a running single turbo car when I got it, but decided to rip it apart. Only certain things were changed.

Yeah you shouldn't need to do very much. It may take some fiddling to get it fired up on E85 with the 1680's (although it should be easier the n1680's on regular fuel) but other then that just plug in the sensor's, calibrate the TPS, check the timing is zero'd (read hitman's site) and off you go.

The car was originally tuned by Steve Kan, so there's currently a timing map in there. I shouldn't need to mess with that for a initial start up right ?

You'll need to make sure its zero'd but you shouldn't have to mess with any of the actual timing maps.

damnit, supposed to be almost 90 here today............. too fricken hot for me. Gonna be sweating like a pig again.

Wiring is one thing, trying to figure out the previous owners mess is another.

I'm not just doing normal wiring either, I'm trying to hide everything as much as possible. Probably a bad move, cause when it doesn't start I'll have to rip the fenders back off.

son bitch

alright, got all the wiring ran, bundled and straightened out. Just have a few more little things left, then I'll fire this jalopy up.

I almost went through a 300 count bag of zip ties
