New Problem with E8. Will not hold steady RPM between 1500 - 2500

Could someone offer me some insight into this problem. If I try to hold rpm at about 1500- 2000 it will not stay constant. It has fluctuations and what I refer to as 'intermittent dropout' . Ill try to explain. If hold the gas pedal down to achieve 2000rpm it will rev at that rpm, but it will have a intermittent dropout as if ever so often it misses a cumbustion event. Also the RPM fluctuates greatly as if something is influencing the map at this point. Below 1500rpm or over 2500 rpm no problems at all. While driving, the car will experience what seems to be intermittent draw back/missfire in this rpm range. My wideband shows good afrs but will show a split second rich reading after each missfire.

I have checked/changed are plug leads so far, but I think its related to the tune/map like fuel correction or throttle pump settings.

What do you think?

Could be lots of things. Off hand, it sounds like an ignition issue but it would be odd to only happen in that range. Have you looked at trigger before last home to ensure it's not a trigger issue? What are the AFR in this range exactly? Can you post your map?

Trigger at last home seem to remain at 12. AFRs are in the 12's at this point but right after a misfire event is a quick flash in the 10s

C. Ludwig did you get a chance to look at my map and log? I still have this problem.

smacks of a dirty tps signal around off idle

how does the tps check out for resistance when checked with a DMM?
can you log the tps as the issue occurs?
also what do you have set in TPS deadband settings?

I didn't really see the issue in the log you sent me. AFR was not one of the parameters logged and everything else looked pretty steady.

The TPS deadband is set at .3% in your map, so I agree with Bumpstart that this is likely an issue. Change the deadband to 2% and see if that helps.

Thanks I'll try that

Update:

Just to let you guys that offered suggestions know that seem to have gotten the problem solved. I lowered the TPS rate of change sentivity for the .5% and 2.5% fields from 60 and 75 to 20 and 45 respectively. The 10% and 25% remain at 90 and 100 like on Claudio's base map where my tune started. I discovered this solution quite by accident. While holding the revs in the problem area (just below 2000) I begun messing with the various paramiters under the throttle pump settings. As I lowered these settings I notice the unstable revs begin to clear up.

Also, I had to increase the 'enrichment sensivity settings' to compensate for the 'rate of change adjustment

Do you think that this indecates a problem with my tps sensor or some other prob since I that my original settings work for others
.

further update:

I was able to solve the problem completely. By using the tps sensor filter, I was able to totally fix this problem. I now able to use my original settings.Bupstart was right, the signal was dirty.
