my TPS is broken...replacement part #??

well it seems when I got my haltech the TPS was broken. IT rotates freely in any direction and puts out irratic signals to the computer.

now I have a S5 TPS that I could use but my motor is a S4 and supposedly it wont bolt up.

is there a TPS that i can get at a local parts store that will still work?

I dont want to have to wait on a Haltech one that is overpriced, but if thats what I have to do, then I will.

sorry, but I don't know the Haltech P/N. I have used two other 3 wire tps's with good results. The one that is on my car now is from some small ford engine. basicly any of the variable resistor type tps will work. A little search through the ignition catalog at a very friendly auto parts store will get you something that will work. or buy one from one of the Haltech dealers.

You can use any 0-5v TPS you can find and fit onto your throttle, doesnt matter, as long as the range is that it will work with the haltech when properly calibrated.

thanks I will look into that.

so if I am getting so signal from the tps, would that cause the car to have trouble reving? It idles fine but when I give it gas it hesitates and then revs. I obviously have to fix this first but I am assuming it has something to do with it.

Yes, because its reading on map sensor alone, and the tps plays a part in the aceleration enrichments as well as load sensing.

well I have a whole S5 throttle body assembly and TPS that I can bolt on for 10 bucks. I'm still gonna look at the parts store for a sensor but if its more than 30-40 bucks I will just use the S5 TB and do the TB mod all over again

I would just bolt up the S5 throttle and be done with it, no worries there on using that, its been done to death.
