Cool Important E6K Questions

OK guys heres the deal..i have a 87 turbo 2 stock ports.....3in rb turbo back, walbro 255lph, hks supermegaflow intake, aeromotive fpr,msd (not in car yet)no ps,ac,heat,no blower..car is like a weekend car for me....well here it is...i just got my hands on a haltech e6k harness, injector harness, sensors and what not..i got it from my friend, he had it in his car and someone just stole the brain out his car..so it is already wired up and what not.....now my question is what else would i need??? how much would the e6k unit cost me??? is it possible for me to use an e6x unit??? i have all the sensors that go on the manifold...i am also getting my hands on a set of 4-720's or 4-890's injectors.....might go with 720's and 890's secondaries......is this a smart choice on my mods right now??? let me know really confused right now and plus i would like to know how you think the car would run with this set up..meaning the type of times, horsepower meets and what not...thanks alot any ideas would be greatly appreciated...thanks again

You should only need the Unit. I Have found them on Ebay for around $600.

is it possible for me to use an e6x unit???
Yep, you just have to re pin the harness. Its not hard.

Thats the same fuel setup I use, and so far its made 401 HP, and I went 12.01 on spinning drag radials.

If i understood you correctly, you have a car that had an E6K installed on it, but someone stole the ECU, so you need an ECU only? well, Haltech no longer sells the E6K's since they are no longer parts to build the PCBs. Also, like J-Rat says, you can find them on ebay, but finding just the ECU will be a tad difficult, since most people sell the entire thing together. Right now i have an E6K terminated harness kid, but its complete so im selling it for a little more than that you'd normally expect to pay.

The re-pinning of the Harness is a little more complicated that how it sounds, one of the complications is the power inputs on the X have one wire going in through a trigger wire pin on the K harness, among other things.

Im not saying its not possible, to repin, its just a damn hard thing to do.

1600s arent necessary for a stock turbo.

Ah, so that's what you were asking, about using 1600's and a stock turbo? well, that's overkill, honestly you'd be fine with just 750's or 800's, more than enough for the stock turbo.

You should just leave the 550 primaries and install the 720's or 800's as secondaries, there are more maps available for these combos.
