HELP 0 RPMS when cranking!
In November, my car was run into by an SUV doing minor damage to the front right fender and suspension. I had only 1000kms on a new engine/turbo/haltech and the car was running VERY well. It went to the body shop for a month and they could not get it started....I figured some bone head just flooded it so I got it towed home... Well, it still won't start. I have done the un flooding procedure like 10 times with out any luck. The rpms on the engine data page read 0 when I'm cranking, everything else reads normaly.... After cranking for a while I can smell an electric burning smelll too......is my starter shot? If yes, then why can I still here the rotors spining inside the engine?
HELP PLEASE~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

check wiring to the CAS and make sure something did not come loose in the accident. was it driveable before taking it to the body shop or was it towed there? I would also investigate this burning smell. this is likely your problem.

dude, if you hear it cranking, it's not the starter
try redoing the wiring to the CAS -- that should do the trick. When I wired up my Haltech for the first time, I messed up one of the crimps and it registered 0 rpm while cranking. Fixed the connection and it fired right up!
Good luck,
manolis

ecu may have been damaged in crash. accidents can cause many problems I don't think it is just a Haltech issue. If you have another CAS try plugging the spare into the harness and spin it by hand and see if it reads anything. I would still guess it is wiring related.

If the trailing coil doesn't fire, you won't have any RPM's. Your tach doesn't work.
I know this sounds screwy, but I had the same problem once. I fixed it by replacing the starter.

Both mine and my son's TIIs had a bad connection at the CAS without having a wreck or being touched. There was no rpm showing while cranking.
Check the ignition switch and wiring also.

the Deutsche plug seem to be some of the best ones. search online, they are available in different configurations. also the GM type connectors are made by Packard and are available from Summit and JEG's.
