haltech e6x question

Hello guys, ive been on the forum for a while, using it mostly for research. Let me begin with what i have. Its an 89 GTU that was an automatic with 140k miles. Since then ive swapped it over to a 5 speed, i dropped a 13bt into, i have a greddy 3core FMIC, i have an IDA throttle body, intake man and plenumi, racing beat TII exhaust, HKS type II racing BOV, PWR 2 core oil cooler, koyo 2 core radiator, 4x1000cc rochester fuel inejectors, and as for the name of the thread, a haltech e6x to control it all.

The questions i have are there: Does anyone know any write ups for wiring a Haltech e6x? the new engine i got didnt come with a wiring harnes, and the one in the stock car is messed up, even if useful at all.

Will i need another wiring harness?

Did i mess up with my injector sizes? im looking to get maybe 250hp in detuned mode and maybe 350ish in tune mode(more if possible) atleast until i can afford a new turbo and an engine rebuild.

Everything is in the car, i just need to wire it, and frankly im kinda dumb when it comes to that kinda stuff, but id like to learn.

The other issue im having is with the oil lines, its the stock turbo, there appear to be three places on the turbo where oil needs to go in or out, any know which are feed and return lines? it is an emmisions free engine from japan and the turbo came with it, im hoping that shouldnt cause any problems.

Ill also post some pics on another thread, unfortunatly the parents commendered the garage for the next week or so to move some stuff around and out of the house, so as soon as its semi uncluttered again, ill take some pics.

Thanks in advance for the help guys, i know this is the place to get it.

This will get you started on the install. Some of the trigger settings will probably be slightly different with the E6X but you can get the harness in and reading at least. You should be fine with the injectors. They're total overkill for your power level but as long as you can get them to idle you'll be fine. It's good to have something a little too big than too small.

On the turbo on port is an oil feed and the other two are water inlets and outlets. The oil goes in the top, drains out the bottom. The water can go in/out either side.

Yeah that sounds about right, i am trying to get the "replacement harness" options for Haltech installations to move forward and hopefully this will happen soon enough.

Hey Ludwig, you in louisville? ill be in your neck of the woods on thursday in Lexington. Lets get in touch, we'll have a few beers.

Later.

You can use my E6K installation notes as it'll be nearly identical.

Sure am. I saw in the latest Haltech email that a Claudio was coming on board at the new headquarters. Assumed it was you. Are you going to be on staff in Lexington full time? We'll certainly have to hook up though I can't do anything this week.

Hey guys, thanks for the hemp so far, the other question i got for you is about the PWM. i Know it can hook up to my haltech boost controler, just not to sure how, theres like 6 wires, and my haltech boost controler has 2 black wires which i can figure out pos and neg easy enough, but what pwm hook up to that?

The PWM's are ground, much like the injector wiring. There's one main power (grey/red), and 4 other grounds which make up the 4 PWM channels.

The grey/red wire would go one side of the solenoid and the appropriate (whichever you choose, 1, 2, 3, 4) PWM ground wire goes to the other. Then in the PWM configuration screen, you simply tell the ECU that whichever channel you picked is now running the wastegate, and then create your wastegate duty cycle map.

Another question guys, i have a haltech o2 sensor, theres 3 wires going into the sensor from the haltech and the spots for it to go into the sensor, but on the third wire, i stripped it, and theres another wire inside of it so its like a wire with a shielded wire inside of it, for clarification this is on the haltech side, not the o2 sensor side, What do i do with that wire?
