New issue

Got my car running 84 gsl, I don't have the drives haft on yet, when it was running I noticed gear oil coming out of the output shaft, I don't think it was in gear. Does this mean my transmission is engaged, mind you I don't know if it was in gear I don't think so.

Gear oil can poor out when the driveshaft is not installed. Usually this only happens when to tail is pointed down at an angle.

I have no driveshaft connected as I'm trying to break in the motor, when I had the motor running I noticed gear oil pouring out of the output shaft, not sure if trannybwas in neutral

Having in neutral won't make a difference. It can still pour out. It will pour out even when not running and in gear.

Also where should my upper oil filler nipple be run to? The lower nipple is running into the charcoal canister via the hard line on the firewall

Do you have the original emissions rack on the car? It should go to a nipple on the rack.
