first startup e8 12a 4 barrel

Just finished wiring a haltech e8 in the first gen and I need a little help getting it running. Here is a list of the specs:

82 gsl
12a
Racingbeat holley intake manifold
Fast ezefi 4 barrel throttle body (gm map, tps, air intake temp, iac)
4 89lbs/hr high impedance injectors (I know these are way to big I will be getting smaller)
Msd with blaster coils direct fire wasted spark
S4 cas
Walbro fuel pump and aeromotive regulator currently at 40psi

I loaded in a 13b n/a stock basemap that I downloaded and changed the ignition settings for msd. When I crank it over the log is showing 44 rpm so the trigger would be correct but the injectors are not spraying any fuel. Can some one point out what im missing or what I should test?

You should see around 250 rpm while cranking. The trigger wiring or setup is not correct.

I found a small problem. The ecu was grounded to the firewall and it was dropping under 8v during cranking ran a ground back to the battery and that fixed. Injectors were pulsing now I need to figure out why the rpm is reading low. The home and trigger wire share a ground on a e8 right? Then the signal wires get connected separately to the yellow and green?

Correct. It's possible you have the home and trigger swapped.

Thanks for the input. Got it fired up. The switched 12v input was dropping in voltage aswell and causing it to turn off as cranking begins, ran the wire straight to the key (like I should have in the first place) and she fired up. Got to clean up the wiring now and put everything back together and I will update once I start tuning tomorrow.

Got it running! Got a new set of 39lbs injectors and a new regulator because the old one had a rip in the rubber and was leaking. I got the base timing set then enabled the advance map from the stock 13b map I had downloaded and the thing was advancing to 35+ degrees. Why would it be set that way? from what I read the max advance on a rotory is 23 degrees advance unless im mistaken.

Locked the timing to 18 for now and plan on taking it for a rip this weekend.

22-26 degrees BTDC under load ( zero vac.. zero boost ) . 35 may be a part load or decel figure while under heavy vacuum

i didnt write the map .. so cant tell for sure.. use the corrections data page to show you if something else is adding to the ig curve value

PS .. you can chuck up the ig map in text view and just look along the 0 psi columns and be sure that there is no value in there beyond 25 ish ,, and that values in boost start to go back towards zero again
