IL E6K stock cas reading 0 RPM

S4 t2 motor
stock cas
ls coils

Been helping a buddy out with his e6k install. I can't get any RPM reading on the laptop. I've verified the switched 12v is on when cranking, I have a constant battery 12v. The attached photo is the settings that are loaded(from Claudio's base map).

I have the stock CAS wired according to the Brian Cain write up.

RED --> Pin 6 Trigger +
WHITE --> Pin 7 Trigger - (Input B)
GREEN --> Pin 13 Home +
White/black --> Pin 12 Home - (Input A)

In my checking around I've come across a couple answers that point to a burned out or faulty trigger module or something in the ECU itself??? Is there a way to test this? Is there another way to set up ignition settings to run? Like in direct fire mode or something??

make sure you match BDC's colors at the cas side of the connector, and not at the harness side of teh connector. i made that mistake last time i did an install. have you done a continuity check with a meter from the CAS connector to the ECU connector?

Yes. I did connect according to the cas connecter. And I have continuity from the cas to the ecu connector on all 4 wires.

Pull the CAS out and spin it by hand, as quickly as you can spin it. See if that nets you an RPM reading.

I had to use a separate reluctor adapter to get a signal for my E6K, the internal one wasn't working for crap.

I was able to get in touch with a guy from Haltech AU. Sent the unit to him. He tested it out and replaced the chips for the trigger circuit that were indeed burned out and it's on its way back home now.

Do you still have that contact info. I have an E6K with the same problem. I have been told that Haltech will not repair the older units.

Ahh, Mankdrake 2661 any update? on that e6k.

Aside from that I was wondering myself If you get an RPM signal I assume you wired it up correctly?

As I don't see the E6K getting a reading if it's not done properly? Anyone know if that's a fact or does incorrect wiring on a CAS still give RPM reading?

make sure you are using an actual e6k harness and not e6x harness. even though its the same ecu connector, the e6x puts the trigger on a different pin, so it wont work with e6k unless you swap pins

Wouldn't have guessed that... notably you still use a E6X diagram, same as everyone else.

So PIN 6 Trigger and PIN 13 Home on E6X... Lordy, someone posted a while back that Haltech AU repaired a E6K couple months ago.

I'm dumbfounded, wouldn't that PIN6 fall inline on an E6X and eventually ruin PIN 6 though 36. Or if I remember correctly that it's like 2-4PINS apart from same sh*t different pile.

My problem extended from Accessories electrical... I lucked out on it hold idle.

You said Haltech AU repaired your E6K? I thought they didn't fix or support them anymore. Contact info please?
