Difference between 13B-T CAS and 13B-RE?

Im running into an issue with my E6k setup... Although the setup guide says to use tooth offset 11 and trigger angle 65 for a stock 13B-T, the car will only start and run properly when the tooth offset is set to 3 and trigger angle is set to 67. I THINK I might have a 13B-RE CAS on my car as I bought the E6k from him pre wired with this CAS. Will this work for my engine? Should I get a proper CAS and rewire it so I can have the proper offset?

When warm I can get the car to idle smoothly...which brings me to another thing. Is there a way to control idle without using a bac valve? Revving the car and letting the rpms drop without opening the throttle a little will cause the rpms to dip very low, then raise back up as if its trying to keep itself running.

The CAS is the same. If the timing is properly zeroed then it's possible you just have the CAS stabbed differently than the factory method. The truth is that you could drop the CAS in any way you want and have tooth offset and angle number completely different than everyone else and have the engine setup perfectly. The true test is to lock the timing in the software and make sure the timing is zeroed.

Actually, on the RE CAS the 2 ground wires for both sensors share a common pin on the CAS connector, and i have seen the RE CAS be more prone to noise than the 2nd Gen one.

My 2 cents.

So the tooth offset and trigger angle dont really matter so long as its firing properly? I zeroed the timing in and its exactly at 5 degree advance (when locked) as the setup guide recommended and it runs very well now. Very smooth revving in neutral and idles without issue (when warm anyway... cold is a different story but my motor is a bit tired). Trigger angle is at 70 and tooth offset is 3 so I guess my CAS might be stabbed a couple of teeth off from stock. But if the trigger angle will change the timing for me without having to restab then I wont worry about it. Thanks for the info.

Now I just gotta get a bac valve on there so I can get some damn idle.

Here is a video of the car running please ignore the jumper cables acting as a temporary ground
