Controlling emissions equipment

I've been looking at options for the future and so far am keeping my stock cat/catback for a long time just for the hell of it. Sort've optimize everything else first.

Right now I have a HKS F-Con and getting a Rtek 1.5. I was thinking of buying a Rtek 2.0 but have seen the light of the haltech.

Only problem is passing emissions with it, how can I jerry rig the AIC and airpump to run properly with the haltech?
Will the haltech control either of them?

This is on a 87 t2 btw.

It shouldent really be a problem, it would just be a matter of wiring up two of the PWM outputs.

you would just set up pwm1 or w.e for the airpump clutch on "dual intake valve"
rpm on "500"
rpm off "3000"

What do you mean by AIC? aditional injector controller?

if so you unless your running more than 6 injectors the haltech will controll them, if not then you will need to buy haltech's version of a AIC.

d'oh, i think i mean ACV. oops

And BAC wouldnt be needed since the haltech should control idle without it perfectly fine, correct?

correct.

as far as the acv, you would just have to see when it came on and adjust the settings with the haltech just like with the airpump clutch.

I actually use the ICS for controlling my idle rather than the bac

I just hollowed out the ACV, and hit the wires. The airpump just went straight to the cats. So my Haltech wasnt controlling any emissions equipment.

that would work also, but you would still need a way of enabling the clutch, which you can do via the PWM

Since we are on the subject, why don't we post the best map configurations for the E-Test. All I did was tunes for 14afr in the vac range up to 4500 rpm, and used Hitman's stock ignition map. Air pump connected to the cat, and 1 gal of denaturated alcohol.

What are you guys doing on E-Test day?

I run an electric air pump, and run it off the dual intake valve. 700rpm - 3300rpm, I also run a purge (fuel vapor recovery) solenoid off the same PWM (which is suppose to hurt the e-numbers), just relay the air pump and pass it thru the fuel pump resistor to knock it down to 9V; High flow ceramic cat...

I also feedback my WB controller 0-5V output into the O2 signal...and have my cruising voltage set to around 15.1. <---brought my NOx WAY up to the almost failing point and brought everything else down to passing.

In ATL they don't test idle...saving factor for me, as I can't get my idle leaner than 12.5
