can you use zeitronix wideband with the e6k for datalogging?

im learning the e6k on my own car and i have the zeitronix a/f wideband meter. i know some widebands you can hook up to the haltech so you can datalog a/f ratios. has anyone done it with the zeitronix ?

thanks in advance

You can hook up any wideband with an output to the Haltech, but in the case of the K you will be looking at the voltage and not an AFR value, so you will have to know your WB's vOut to AFR ratio so you know what to tune it at, based on the datalog.

For example, if you see 1.5v from the wideband, and that means 10.0, and your ratio is 9.0AFR = 0v and 14.7AFR = 4v, then you know you have to take out fuel to raise the voltage and in term raise the AFR to a more desireable point.

Ok I gotcha. I think im going to try datalogging the zeitronix on its on program. And also datalog the e6k. Then ill just compare rpm and try to go from there. It might not be accurate but it should be close. I read on here some other guy was doing it that way

thanks.

btw: i saw on another thread that you can get new e6k harnesses? im interested in a couple.

Well you dont have to log them independantly, you can pretty much input the signal to the Haltech through wither the O2 sensor input or the SpareA/D input and log the voltage, then you can take those log files, load them into Excel and with the formula that will probably be in your WB manual you can change the voltage value in excel to AFR. Simple.

I do it all the time, works perfectly, and all WB makers include the formula in their documentation to get AFR from mV.

is there somewhere i can get instructions on how to hook it up to the spare A/D you say?

my manual does give me afr in voltage readings so that will be nice to have it all logged into one log.

thanks

All you have to do is connect the O2 sensor (0-5v) output from your WB to wither the signal wire for the O2 sensor input or the signal wire on the Spare A/D connector, middle pin on the Spare A/D connector. Set the input to 0-5v and you should be good to go. Note! if you are using the Internal Map sensor with E6X the spare AD disapears, its taken up.

Its all the same, E6A/S/K/X, they work the same way.
