Analog Inputs not reading voltage from my EGT gauge 0-5voutput

I just decided to jump on the bandwagon and purchased two EGT gauges with 0-5v output so I could log dual exhaust temp. My problem is, with the output of the gauges hooked up to spare AD 3&4 of my E8, I see no change in the voltages while reving the motor. I used my volt meter and veryfied that the 0-5v outputs from the gauges are working. I see the voltage rise between 0-5v as I rev the motor, but it does not register on the analog input data page. The gauges I purchased have + and - teminals for the 0-5v output and I simply connected the + only to the E8 since the E8 only has one wire input. Clould this be the problem? Should I have used the - output from the gauge to feed the Haltech. If not where does the - output from the gauge connect to on the haltech?

This is the gauge I am using:

What do you have the inputs setup as?

Spare ad3 = EGT
Spare ad4 = undefined

I went a step further testing the output of the egt gauge. With my meter probes on the output + & - terminals of the gauge I get varying voltage between 1-5v while reving the motor. However, with one probe on the positive output of gauge and the other to chassis ground there is no voltage variance. I think that this would mean that the ecu may not be able to process this + siginal from the gauge by itself without the corresponding ground signal from the gauge. Just playing rocket scientist .......your thoughts on this theory please.

You can try it, but I wouldn't think it would be necessary. Connect the - side to signal ground and see what happens.
