2400-2500 RPM stumble

I just got my na 20b (E11v2, 1 bar MAP) running and have been working on a base map. I have a rough map built that runs ok...

However I am getting a big stumble at the 2400-2500 RPM range, my wide band goes crazy...lean rich ... lean rich...and just wont settle down until i get to 3000 RPM

It revs up to that point smoothly and once it gets to 3000+ it revs fine too???

I am going to try all the re-routing the CAS signal wire blah blah blah and see what happens, but I really cant see that being the problem since it revs fine below and above this area.

It is not the staging bar because I have that set @ bar 20 and all this is happening down near bar 12-14

step 1 re route CAS wires

step 2 update firmware

step 3 adjust timing map

Hmmmm... now that I am thinking about it, maybe my vacuum line for the MAP sensor is wrong???

I will check all this tonight. If anyone has any ideas please post up

well, I adjusted the timing map by advancing it by another 10 degrees which helps a lot... but I still had to mess with the filters and it's pretty good now. My data log shows the TPS spiking in a downward motion randomly, so I play with it a little tomorrow

other then that it runs pretty good

sorry .. not my TPS... my MAP sensor is bouncing around. I will try sourcing a new vacuum for it

I messed with it today... moved my vacuum sources 2-3 times, swapped CAS with another known good one, isolated the CAS wires even more, changed and reloaded firmwares only to go back to were i was before

But when i decided to recheck the lock timing... I found that I have the same issue as Jesuscookies...

At idle it is right on the money, but when i bring it up BAM...the timing jumps ship and retards about 30 degrees

anyone have any ideas... I am going to double check all the correction maps and auxiliary maps to see if their whats making it do the funky chicken

trigger settings?

try resseting all the ignition and trigger settings to the wrong setting, applying, exiting doing key off key on then set them back correctly, and doing the same thing.

Did you ever got that stumble fix...

I'm having the same problem but I notice that my TPS is showing ... 0 then 25 them 50 then 75 then 100 when I press the pedal...There is no inbetween ####'s

Also with the decel ......When I move it higher the stumble goes away completely..

IS IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE DECEL ENABLE..????

still working on it. I adjusted the Home Filter from two down to zero and the motor died, so I adjusted the trigger angle from 50 down to 10 when it started... then back up to 14 where the timing zero'd out(locked @ -5)

I then rev'd it up to 2500 where it was smooth.. then 3000 where it just cut off and died like the rev limiter was set at 3000rpm

the trigger and home gains no noticeable effect on the problem

I will mess with it some more today

OK.... So last night I spent some time putting extra shielding on the CAS wires. Since my local electronics store is no better then a radio shack I ended up cutting some high quality coaxial TV cable. This cable had 2 layers of foil and 2 layers of braided shielding. I carefully slipped off 8 foot pieces of the braiding off and then slipped it onto my CAS wiring... Kind of hard as it acts like a chinese finger-cuff

I then wrapped the hole thing in aluminum foil (yes, the kind you cook with) and grounded it at the fire wall. I then coverd the whole thing in rubber harness tape

Today I set out to my tuning spot where I found that the stumble moved from the 2500rpm range to the 3000 rpm range. So I adjusted my filters up and down... then I adjusted my gains down from 12 all the way to 1

In the end I am using 0 trigger filter and 0 home filter and set my gains to 1

I then lock the timing. shoot it with a timing gun... timing is zero... while still shooting it with a timing gun, I rev it up... and geuss what

Yeah the timing stayed at -5 Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

as of right now, it looks to be fixed. I still have to tuck the CAS wires back into the harness and test again... but I think it's good to go
