I would need the spacer-less original-style mounts because my need is for an RX8 rather than an FD3. Sounds like we may need to confer on dimensions just to make sure.

 

And here I was thinking you had a third-gen too. I've not heard of anyone fitting my mounts to a RX-8, I would definitely need pictures and some dimensions to see if it would work, or whether it makes sense to make an 8-specific mount.

Any chance to still get in on this? Also I remember a few years back you made some specific to the V8 guys...is that still a possibility?

 

Yes, there's room for you. If there was anything specific to the V8 crowd, it would have been use of spacers to drop the height closer to stock to prevent clearance issue with oil pans or the conversion subframes. Best thing would be for you to double-check on a RX-V8 forum to see what they did. I'd check my emails but the search function on Thud-derbird(sic) is awful now. Need to find a better email client...

Hi all,
Slight delay in getting the mount bodies out for anodize, packaging materials that I expected to show up Tuesday will now arrive (I hope) Wednesday. That means a likely Thursday delivery to my plater. The place I use is usually pretty quick, so I should have them back next week. A few days for inserts/boxing/addressing and they'll start going out the door.

Mounts will be shipped USPS to US locations, if you're outside the US (not sure if anyone is), there will be some additional shipping cost. Tracking numbers will be emailed as the mounts ship, insurance will be available for full value (basic Priority Mail coverage is only $50), additional cost will be around $6.50-$9 depending on valuation of the package.

After the mounts are sent for anodize I will start PMing each member on the list, and there will be a option for those who also want the 3pcs swaybar mounting bushings. As those are still to be made, I'm suggesting a "wait for it" approach where I keep a set of Widefoot mounts aside for you, then ship everything at once. The other choice is two shipments, but that means two shipping charges, which sorta sucks.

Start looking for the PM's soon, and thanks once again for your patience. It's been a while since I'd made these, I'd forgotten how much work they are!

Good news, everyone!

Yes, it's true, I dropped off a bunch of mounts at my plater this morning. I'll get them back late next or early the following week.

I have some additional parts to make and get powder coated (need more radiator support plates), but there's enough of those in stock to start shipping to those who only need mounts.

I will make a proper database of the current listing for the GB, and start PMing those on the list in order of signup with anticipated ETA's for their mounts. For those who also want 3pc swaybar bronze mounts, I'll go over delivery options and what I'm planning for the new version. It's going to be a really nice piece with a lot more features than before, but will be more work than my previous design. This means they will be more expensive than the originally stated cost of $200. Not sure yet what the price will be as I have to finish detailing the design and get a production cost estimate.

For those who need to keep the price down, I do have a few sets left of the original bronze mounts, but those require spacers to work with the 3pc swaybars due to tie-rod to swaybar arm contact issues (the 3pc swaybars don't have the same form factor as the OEM style single piece bars).

The names in Post #165 is the "official" list of that I'll be working from when PMing people on Widefoot Mount availability and payment options. I'm checking in to a Paypal alternative called Chase QuickPay, as I believe it has lower (or no) fees than PP. Only one person (me) has to have an account, but I will confirm that paying is as simple as responding to an emailed invoice. I'll get this settled Monday and start the payment request process.

When I can collect the mounts from anodize I'll post anticipated shipping dates for the first sets to go out.

Hi all,
Payment requests are being sent to everyone on the list. We've got 39 members at the moment, good thing I upped the quantity of mounts I was going to make! For those who just want mounts I'm requesting payment in full, for those who also want the single-piece Bronze Mounts for 3pc swaybars I'm asking for a small deposit to set aside your mounts and also start on the new parts.

Swaybar mounts will be shipped out in order of payment received via USPS Priority Mail with tracking numbers sent to you by PM or email, whichever you prefer. I'm including my email address in the PMs, if you'd prefer to contact me that way it's usually faster.

Please remember to check your car's frame rails where the mounts attach, as this can be an area subject to metal fatigue due to the OEM design induced rocking. As I tell people, my mounts will protect the car's frame from this damage but will not "fix" metal fatigue if it's already occurred. If you see *any* signs of cracking around the two 10mm threaded mounts on the chassis please email me for repair instructions, or consult trusted members here.
