I'm in for some front rotor's and a rear setup. What pad's will the rear brakes use?

Great job guys this is a great option for guys like myself who want better braking that don't track much mostly spirited driving and of course curb appeal.

Anybody have preference on the slot design of the rotor's? I prefer curved slots for a street setup vs the J hooks.

To answer some questions, the rear brake setup uses the stock pads. We're exploring other caliper options as well, though we do really like this one and it's what mazda chose for their BBK.

Does anyone have a preference as to rotor slot design? Curved or hooked as pictured above?

J-Hooks Back and Front...I missed the initial GB on the Competition system but will definitely be ready when the rear system is produced...

Special combo Pricing on both requested!

Special combo Pricing on both would be nice as well as the anodized grey color on the AP brake calipers.

Interesting, any chance you would consider a ducting option as well?

The rear brake pre-sale is now live! We are in the middle of a production run for 12 kits, and are taking pre-orders starting today. The pre-sale price is reflected on our website, however as stated previously we will be giving a further discount to those purchasing our front AP Competition Front Kit at the same time (or for customers who have previously purchased our front kit, please email us with your order number -> info@sakebombgarage.com ).

Interested in the street brake kit. Thank you SBG for considering this product.

I like the monoblock calipers. My concern is how available replacement pads and rotors will be.

I would likely be interested in lightweight 2-piece rotors, but it would be nice to have the piece of mind that there are OEM blanks that I could source in the event that SBG no longer makes rotors.

You could always use stock 99 spec rotors Hopefully that's some piece of mind

I would be interested in a 4 wheel street kit. Is the replacement pieces lighter overall than the stock ones being replaced?

This thread is not dead! If there's interest we'll take this to production. The brake rotor prototypes have been made! We're trying to make this a very affordable, slightly-DIY setup (meaning you source the calipers yourself but we provide everything else). We still do not know final pricing on the kit but the kit will include brackets, lines, two piece rotors (2024 heat-tolerant and mil-spec anodized hats, directional curved vane rotors with SBG slot pattern as is on our rears SBG slotted rotors, all mil-spec hardware.

Holler if you've got questions.
-Heath

(PS Don't mind the missing bolts on the hats, we just wanted to make sure that fitment was correct. Please note the prototype rotors shown above were not slotted to get them on the car faster for test fitting. )

You got it! Were getting closer! I'm currently running the prototype on my car and it's quite good. I think it will be a great option for a streetable BBK that's also affordable but performs quite well. These calipers are forged monoblocks... they're extraordinarily stiff.

Are the rotors compatible with Spirit R calipers? If so, I am in for a complete set.

Fronts are yes! The rear competition kit is actually larger (330mm) than spirit R (314mm) and are not compatible. If there's enough interest we can absolutely make a 99-99 spec rear rotor as well though. We'll have a separate page up for just the 99 spec rotors.

Supposedly 1 thou. but if you want to take a dial indicator to the brake discs, these are a better match for you

Maybe next year I'll be able to pick these bad boys up together with the rear brake upgrade (I'm talking about the AP racing ones.. )
They fit on the FD's upgraded 17's, correct? (the 99spec ones)
