94 textured version is not a definite thing. we are doing some test to simulate the textured versions. If we can simulate something close we will be just offering that as we have more projects we would like to move on to as well

I'd hold off for a few more days while we continue some testing

People have found other ways to emulate the '94 texture using paints and such. Think you could just scuff the tops of your 93 version and proceed that way?

The texture has to be done with the mold. Paint won't hold up.

Thats what we are experimenting with! I think we have a technique that should hold up as its intended to withstand abrasion I've done a few samples and one looks very good! I'll post pictures in the next few days of that, the tricky part is to get the same consistency which is what I'm trying to refine.

UPDATE: We are finishing up post curing the first batch today! tomorrow will be trim and prep!
Packaging is all sorted out!
Last bits of hardware has arrived!

Should have the first batch out this week

To be clear, are you working to produce textured lids with the mold, or with paint?

currently we're looking to replicate the "textured finish" with paint to avoid making another mold

Sorry, All the map lids in the first batch are spoken for. I actually think we made enough extra to cover everyone who has already put in an order to this day.

I have more supplies arriving in the next few days and I'll begin the 2nd run. ETA is a few weeks (sorry no exact date). We got swamped with a bunch of orders at once and I've been trying to catch up. To avoid heavy delays again, I will be restructuring how we run our business and will stock items vs made to order (Causes way too much chaos) In addition I'm still trying to relocate into a shop and need to prep for DGRR.

With that said, If you would like a map lid, I suggest placing your order soon then later to guarantee you will get one from the next batch! Link >>> Bubble Tech RX7 map pocket lid

Now for more updates!
94 textured Map lid! or is it??? suspect:

I'll let the pics do the talking, you can be the judge

DISCLAIMER: After various tests with different paint products it is nearly impossible to match the black finish for everyone. Given the car is 20+years old, the condition of your interior parts play a huge factor in what shade of black your trim is. As you can see in the picture the stock trim looks to have a blue-ish purple in it, while on another car the trim was more black. For everyone who has already placed an order, you will receive the map lid painted. For future orders, the lid will come unpainted and you can choose which colors match your trim best.

For a nice rich black, the products we recommend are from SEM's paint line
SEM Trim black
SEM Landau black (What we currently use)
SEM Satin Black

However, for our textured version, it will come as is in the picture. Since we spray on our texture it will technically come painted black, but may need a coat of paint if depending on the condition of your trim. (faded or new)

Price will remain the same as we never intended to paint the lids (hence why it took longer than expected) The textured versions will be +$10 more

We will be at DGRR With some samples if you want to see them in person! Or try to break it

i'd love to know how you got the textured look from the finish, i have all 94 interior except my gauge hood/bezel. and they are damn near impossible to find/afford. if i could paint my current smooth one like these i'd be very happy.
