Just curious if there's any option for a 3" system.

+1 on no-logo. That's my preference when possible. Though I don't mind tasteful and low key stuff. You gotta take credit where credit is due.

Looks amazing so far - Good quality stuff brother ! Thanks for the update

Would the straight tip option be a similar design as the Tanabe Touring Medallion / RB single ? (The tilt aspect). Burnt tip of course

Just a suggestion for the 2 piece option: What about a slip joint?

You wouldn't need a flange or more welding, just swell one end and put a couple slots in it. Then a band clamp to tighten it up. The Borla exhaust I have on my car uses that setup.

One nice benefit is you can (if the joint is long enough) adjust the position of the tip and how much it pokes out from under the rear valance.

Sure, on the Group Buy I can accommodate it - but down the road, it'll only be Dolphin Tip. Slash cut? Or straight-straight?

I would like a straight-straight.

I notice a lot of titanium systems use springs and hooks on slip junctions. Could speculate, but not sure the science of it.

Making it repackable for everyone is easy. you just make sure that the inner perforated exhaust tube slips on the outside of the tube going to the outlet in the rear.
Then anyone can cut a nice straight line around the box at the front end, pull out the entire inner perforated tube and the surrounding packing material.
You can then repack it, and then rivet a strip on stainless on the inside of the box that you use to connect the to halves.

I repacked my Blitz NÜR Spec like this. Altho since its stainless i welded instead of riveting.

Yeah. Maybe an oval shield on the top of the muffler, just so people that buy it second hand know it's ours? I like that idea.

Yes. A 3in system (76mm) is already made. That's what the pics are showing.

Agreed on the logo.

At this point, we could probably do whatever you wanted. For full on production, we'll probably stick with one design (Dolphin Tail) and possibly allow for special orders when it comes to tip.

The problem really just becomes too many SKUs/options. First we're gonna have piping sizes... then finish... then tip style... it gets unmanageable at some point, especially with such a low production piece. If we sell 20 of these exhausts I'll be staggered. Which means certain configurations might only be one or two pieces. Not the end of the world, but nothing we could sustain production on.

Yes. This. Slip joint along with retainer springs might actually be the way we go. Exploring that option right now. Tons of high end vehicles also use this with great success.

It actually solves a couple questions for us, the precision adjustment of the tip position is another nice benefit.

That's doable. PM a pic of an ideal tip.

Exactly the path we're going down.

I am picking up the first prototype this week / early next. I'll verify fitment, note any changes, then try to get some sound clips.

We haven't finalized everything yet - but we should probably have a solid "option list" in the next 30-45 days? After that, it'll be collecting payments and going into production. So realistically, I'd say 90 days before people have exhausts in hand. Just in time for spring.

Good observation. I'll be sure to pass this onto the fabricator.

I'm interested, but I personally loathe dolphin tip exhausts. Any chance of a straight exit option?

Yeah, I hear ya - not everyone's cup of tea. On the initial run (almost) anything would be possible.

There's a couple guys above that commented on wanting specific tips - just PM me a picture of your ideal setup and we should be able to accommodate.

Interested to hear the sound clips and see the dB measurements. Regarding tips, this may be a little out there but could you reproduce the Ganador style?

Should have BOTH in the next week.

Doing the full Ganador exhaust won't happen - BUT - I can do the Ganador style tip for sure.

Ok guys!

Great news. We recently were able to test fit our first prototype and fitment is SPOT ON!

PICTURES

VIDEOS

Not only that, it sounds FANTASTIC!

IDLE

THROWING SOME REVS

CRUISING

SOUND

At idle, it's a smooth 75.4db at WOT, we're cracking 97.7db. But no drone or snap, crackle 'n pop.

These were both taken with a GReddy DP and OEM cat with a set of twins. Single turbo and full exhaust sound clips are on the way!

CHANGES / NOTES

Moving forward, there are going to be a couple design changes.

1) We ARE going with a two piece design. The connection will be slip-fit with springs for added security right at the straight section coming off the muffler. There's a few reasons for it. Logistics and streamlined production being the primary driving factors.

2) We will offer a twin tip version of the exhaust, which will be a true twin tube design on the muffler section. Basically, the front pipe will be the same for single or dual, and the muffler pipe will change based on single or dual exit.

3) We will offer your choice of tip on this initial run. Single Dolphin is the prototype, but Dual Dolphin will be an option along with single and dual slash cuts. DM custom requests.

4) We are sticking with 76mm (3.0in) and 90mm (3.5in) as our product moving forward. BUT we've had interest in a 103mm (4.0in) version from a few people. On this initial run, we'll entertain those, but no plans to stock them in the future.

ETA
Now that we've verified what we need to verify, we are going to start production. ETA is going to be April/May and we'll start collecting deposits on pre-orders here soon. So if you're REALLY interested and want to get in on this, start thinking about what you want and get those tax return checks lined up.

You guys keep hitting home runs. Those look amazing. If my buddy didn't already hook me up with a Trust Titanium exhaust (and i wasn't poor) I'd be all over this.

Keep up the good work!

Any chance you could conduct a sound measurement that follows SAE J1492? This is the sound test standard for California.

Test is conducted 0.5m distance from outlet, with sound meter set at a 45° angle to outlet, even height with outlet Engine speed is 50% of max, so 3250.

I don't want to give the impression that we're anything close to a testing authority. The "db meter" we used was an iPhone app.

That said, we can TRY. But we'll probably hide behind the 'ol "For Off Road Use Only" disclaimer regardless of what the results are.

We're also gonig to test on a single turbo / straight exhaust car and we'll do out best to employ that testing method.

That’s what I used, set my iPhone on the edge of a cardboard box at the right distance and angle. Reckon it’s 95% of correct.
