Tons of options really. If you are ditching the spare - you have the entire wheel well. If you can live without your OEM tools, I really like the spot up there. Some people mount on the rear bumper support to keep noise in the cabin down (it's not bad, but different strokes for different folks), in the fender well near the antenna is also a spot I've seen and if you ditched your ABS - there's an awesome spot right there. Mine is mounted due south from the hatch latch, I'm not running a spare.

Wouldn't the jack and tool locations be to high, since the pump needs to sit below the lowest water level of the reservoir? (Could just be the characteristic of the AEM kit I'm using) Never really though about mounting it externally tbh.

My apologizes. It would. I put my *controller* there so I had quick access.

As mentioned before, all these water injection pumps are self priming and can be above the water level within reason

This is true.

The truth is, placement distance is unlimited; but with a tradeoff. The tradeoff is that the more you make it pull, the less it can push so as the pump gets further away from being gravity fed and actually having to pull fluid into it, the less the net output pressure will be. Knowing that and obviously wanting as much output pressure as possible, I’d say limiting the vertical height delta from outlet of tank to inlet of pump to 12"-18" should be acceptable. But I've never seen any specific testing with this, so I don't know what the pressure change will be with more height. Best advice is to always keep it as small as possible (but 12"-18" should be fine).

Sweet as I'll PM sakebomb and see what we can do.

I've had snowboards shipped from the US for cheaper than that.

Pardon my stupidity but when I go to click to add the tank to my cart on SBG's website, it won't let me unless I select the controller and nozzle kit, the filter and the fluid level sensor. Is this GB geared up to buy the tank as an entire kit, or just the tank on it's own?

We're working out the bugs on this shipping calculator. Having been behind the scenes in e-commerce development for years, I know dialing in shipping is way trickier then you may imagine. Sit tight. PMs are a good route right now.

This seems to be just a gaff. The tank IS available on it's own, I believe SBG is actively trying to add AEM Meth kits as an option. Sit tight.

The issue with adding components is now resolved.

HOWEVER, International customers should probably contact SBG direct for the best shipping rates. The website isn't the best with handling international shipping.

Just a heads up. All issues with the website / shipping have been rectified!

Here's how it has shaken out...

Domestic (USA, including AK, HI and PR) - $35 Flat Rate
Canada - $60 Flat Rate
International - $70 Flat Rate

The only catch is, if you are in Canada or International, you need to check the box BEFORE you add the item to the cart:
FD3S Rear "Euro" Washer/Fluid Tank-ipa2gux.png

Then on the checkout page, it will charge you another $35 in addition to the Canada or International "checkbox" fee. The sum of which IS the Flat Rate.

Big ups to SakeBomb Garage for chasing this down and fixing it. Any questions PLEASE reach out to SakeBomb Garage direct.

PLEASE NOTE: The Flat Rate is for the tank and the tank ONLY. If you add a Meth Kit or ANY other product, shipping will have to be recalculated. If you want more than one item, it might make sense to place two different orders so not to throw off the shipping calculator.

How will that be reflected if we've already paid in full?

Contact SBG direct.

My understanding is that refunds/credits will be issued. However, I don't want this thread to get too far off the rails with individual customer support issues.

Is this true? I'd guess the total energy required to move a fluid from a source to a final destination is just the potential energy imparted to lift the fluid, and this is independent of intermediate location. That's why siphons can work across an intermediate hump as long as the final exit is below the feed tank. And the extra energy required to pressurize the fluid while doing the lifting would also be independent of the mount point.

In other words, if the pump is mounted at a high intermediate location, the extra work required to lift the fluid from the feed side is offset by the fact that the fluid on the exit side is running downhill that extra distance.

If I'm being COMPLETELY honest, I asked the question to the engineers at AEM and that was their the response. At best I'm an armchair engineer, but I do ask questions to those smarter than me and relay that info back to the public.

However, there's no guarantee the uphill / downhill would be the same. It could very well be the case that the uphill (to the pump) is then plateaued as it goes to the injection point. How this ultimately effects, things? I really don't know. The guys at AEM are usually pretty good about talking shop and I've never had to wait on hold for more than a minute or two. Maybe worth a call if you had the time / inclination?

Payment sent through SBG website!

Technically there is also skin friction along the length of the pipe but should be almost zero with water/meth. Its been a while since ive taken fluid mechanics...

To anyone on the Interest List that hasn't paid / added their name to the thread over in the SakeBomb Garage forum... I sent you a PM. Of the ~130 PMs I sent, I heard back from about 12 of you (Thank You!). Now, you don't have to respond. The PM was just a heads up for people not subscribed to this thread, but we need your help (read: orders)!

PLEASE, your support is what got us to this point and your support (again, read: orders) are what's going to make this an awesome product and push us to making MORE products for the FD3S (...and not those dumb S2000s or newfangled BRZ/86s). Right now, there are ~30/161 people on the list and closer to 50/161 that have actually ordered (don't worry about adding your name if you already paid, I'm keeping a separate list). That means over 100 of you are missing/on the fence/backing out. What happened!?

I know a bunch of you said you were gearing up to order later in the week, but PLEASE, get those orders in before August 15th for my sake (no pun intended) and yours. It's the cheapest these tanks will ever be. I promise.

Here's where you can pre-order.
Trunk-Mount Water Injection Tank - SakeBomb Garage LLC

Ok. Enough begging from me.

At this point i consider buying one in case i get a 2nd FD x) Having a euro spec, i found that all the washer things are located in the trunk, and thus if i swap out the tank i have nothing. On the other hand, i got free space where the US tank is.
I guess thats something i should have researched before putting my name on the list.
