Was wanting this product at my first track day this year. Would be much easier to fill up than my current setup. Thanks for keeping the project moving along.

Made some more progress. 3D printer churning away:

Like a dummy, I printed it WITH the cap. No biggie, doesn't effect what we're trying to verify. Also, had to print it in two pieces (no surprise) because its so damn long.

THEN, I got to test fit it:
FD3S Rear "Euro" Washer/Fluid Tank-37reytk.jpg
FD3S Rear "Euro" Washer/Fluid Tank-cxe3xym.jpg
FD3S Rear "Euro" Washer/Fluid Tank-xalqdfm.jpg

Fits like a glove. No issues with install/fitment. One bolt is a tight fit/PITA to get to... but a open-ended, ratcheting 10mm wrench makes quick work of it.

After this, there's only a couple things left on the check list then we're gonna greenlight production and start taking orders. I know it always seems like "one more thing" - but there's literally like three things left to do!

The gaudy rotor on the cap makes me sad in pants :P. You'll keep the stock thread pitch, yes? Looks awesome, it'll be nice once cintering machines can create parts that are structurally up to snuff.

It's a SakeBombGarage logo! Really, one of my favorites logo's around.

But yes, it'll work with OEM, no problemo.

Since mine holds 1.8, I'm guessing this one will be right around 2 gallons. Matt, can you confirm this?

Looking like just a tad over 2 gallons.

We are finalizing our order with the manufacturer this week! Lots of e-mails, CAD drawings and confirmations back and forth making sure everything is just right.

We are setting up a web page to place preorders with additional info in the next week or so. Then we will start a new thread (this one will continue to be updated) with links, info and everything else you need.

Getting very close guys. Thanks for your patience and support!

I was wondering about the possible issues with heat exposure etc. I know some 3D printed stuff just don't take heat well... ???

Shouldn't be a lot of heat in the back of the trunk, but I believe the final product will be molded, not 3D printed. Or at least I hope not... we'll all be driving flying cars by the time they 3D print 200 of them.

Yeah. The 3D printed pieces are just to verify fitment is correct, test slosh in the real world, etc, etc. You can sneak by with 3D printing on some stuff (I think there's a guy making interior components and emblems) but any function piece requires more tried and true manufacturing methods. In our case, we are going to use a combination of injection and blow molding.

Correct. Just one half of this tank took two days to print. Much less "rapid" then the term "rapid prototyping" suggests.
