Lol yessss! Jk. I agree with Matt though. Something more flush that covers the ring. I personally was thinking of a plug that removes the whole assembly. I've had two FDs and both had that black outer most ring broken/loose on the lighter. Not sure how complicated it would be to make though.

We'll offer an "eject" option and a blank option when we make them.
I think the full delete would be nice, my concern is how many people feel comfortable pulling everything out and replacing it vs. the people who just want a plug so they can still use it if need be.
While I wait for some supplies to arrive I started working on the front "door triangles" that people keep asking for. The only issue I have are the clips that hold them in place... I don't really know how to make those.
I have clip from my broken pieces, but not everybody will have them. Here's the print:

Door triangles? Maybe modify the design to accept magnets?
For the visor dowl I believe you can reduce the inner diameter (making the part thicker) could help them "clicking/glue" together. Or maybe instead of a through circular hole inner diameter, make it square. If you noticed there is a slight gap between the sunvsor and dowl.

Yes, I'll see what I can do with that.
I'm not sure it would work well with magnets, given it's orientation and location. Plus, I'd want it to secure as well as the OEM unit does.
I think it's possible to just glue the two halves to the visor, and to each other, for a secure fit. I have a functional prototype, I'd just like to dial them in a little bit better.

Good stuff going on here
Just FYI, not a bad idea to check with Ray at Malloy on some pieces to confirm they're NLA.
For example, I recently got the small inner door triangles from him, and IIRC the new OEM mazda pieces were like 16-17$ each.

If the parts are still available, especially if they're inexpensive, it doesn't make sense for us to reproduce them. We'd rather make parts that are NLA.
We've been working away on the cluster hood. I'll post some update in the next couple days.

Hello!
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been out of the office for the past couple of weeks. We have a few prototypes of the cigarette lighter plugs - we came up with a couple of different styles.
We've also been working on USB pass-through switches for BMW, so that has consumed some of our time. Good news with that, is we have all of the components to make OEM style replacements for the RX7, as well. In the near future we'll be releasing some design photos. Here's what the BMW switch looks like, just for a rough idea of how we put it together:
Cluster hood is still in the works - it's an annoying part to reproduce so bear with us on that.

Wow. A pass thru like that would be killer.
What are you thinking to replace? One of the switch blanks?
