i'll be looking into what Darren started here, don't worry. the OEM diff mount in my TII is hanging on by a thread and clunks periodically so i'll be working out a more permanent solution similar to this.
i'll only be using steel though. i highly doubt aluminum will handle the job.

Years ago there was a different guy on this forum that was selling semi-solid front differential mounts. I want to say he was selling them for like $140 and then you'd get a bit of money back after you him shipped your broken core... I ordered one from him, and I have had it ever since. But I do have a pinion snubber, too. The quality is great... Wish I could find his damn thread...

got a picture of his design? i'm feeling too lazy to come up with unique ideas lately. not like there's many that can be used for this application anyways but i do like Darren's idea with replaceable pucks that take a straight load versus the stock mounts that use a torsional load.
i did mill the rubber off a stock mount and was going to use replaceable puck mounts but it seems to be more work than it's worth once you get down to the skeletal frame of the stock mount with the push through rivet mount bolts.

His design wasn't unique by any means. You know what he stock front differential mount looks like... It was that. He just used some sort of stronger/stiffer rubber material... Or whatever the hell it's made of.

I am not sure what your referring to, but I have one installed on my car. Karack and I are talking about a mount that someone else made. Not the one at the beginning of this thread.
Either he has the technology at hand... Or he may have welded some barbs to each piece of steel, and the stiff rubber-like material, in liquid form, being poured in between the mold/barbed pieces of steel easily just stayed in place. Thing is, it looks fused. Who knows... I wish I could find that damn thread. I'll go back and check my RX-7 e-mails and Paypal hustory. It had to have been back in 2007 or so.

not to dig up dirt on a possibly decent person but be careful before sending money to this guy.
