Respeed Steering Rack Group Buy

I've so far both called and email re-speed trying to hear some news on my kit (and coilovers which I also ordered along with it back in august) and have yet to hear anything! Did anypne else receive their kit?

I also ordered the kit and coilovers. I recieved mine on like the 27th or so. There was no required signature, and it had a listed value (on the shipping label) of $200. Had no tracking information and was missing the set screws for the front coilovers. I called both numbers and sent sams emails almost daily until it arrived. I also never recieved any response. I hate to give these guys a bad review, but I'm not sure the move to canada was the best for billy.

Well my kit finally arrived*phew*, a little beat up, only 100 dollars insurance and looks to be missing at least the steering column aluminum shear pins. Also still waiting on the rack and the u joint. Tried calling Re-Speed again yesterday, still no response, nobody picks up.

I’m glad you guys are getting your parts… maybe I’ll get mine soon. I’m going on 2 months for front and rear coil overs and a strut tower brace (I know up to a 3 week wait). And haven’t gotten a reply or a call back in 3 weeks.

Yeah... it's like he just dropped off the face of the earth? I really wish there had been SOME communication about when stuff was shipping, etc. tracking numbers and what not.
Also, it's pretty lame to skip out on shipping insurance when it might have added maybe only 10 bucks to the shipping cost.

I heard from him the other day, just a short note, no real explanation about what happened though. He did send the missing parts from my kit ASAP and they have since arrived, so good on him for that. He said he was going to look into what was up with the rack and u-joint that I'm still waiting on, but that's coming from Maval I guess direct. Yeah I'm hoping everything is OK with him, seems like he was much more responsive about a year ago when I was talking with him about their camber plate kit that I ended up getting. It's just frustrating being in the dark over something that cost me more than my RX-7 did!

with my quick ratio, I can go from center to full turn in about 8" of travel. I freakin love it. I am dropping the subframe next weekend again to redo some welds I had made on it. I ended up with 1" of clearance to my mid length headers to the steering u-joint with this kit so swapping a V8 is possible. I only had to move my alternator to where the stock camaro ps pump was.

Can anyone answer this? I have a 1980 SA and the bracket that hols the steering tube is not big enough to go around the end of it. Does anyone know if the SAs and FBs have different diameter steering tube?

Yes they are different, although its not as clear cut as being SA or FB, its more like 79-81.5 and 81.5-85 (I got this info from Mazdatrix) so if yours is an 80 then it would have the flared out tube, the later steering tube is the same diameter at the end. Since the bracket is too small to fit around it he sent you the 81.5-85 bracket, I'd also assume that the delrin bushing he sent would be the incorrect one too...

yes, in the original orders that we did this was a required answer to get them made. Billy had asked if we had PS, or not and year. mine took some massaging but I got it on there eventually. If I take my shaft out I have to take the whole rear control arm assembly off to reinstall it.
