Question Is this worth it???

Ok here is how it goes. There is a 91' RX-7 in my area with 88,000 miles and a new paint job. The guy is willing to sell for $750, BUT he says that the engine has low compression on the front rotor and his mechanic thinks the apex seal is worn. Is this worth it?

Not unless it's turbo...you can get the NA's in great condition for 4k or less

If the car is in pretty good shape except for the engine $750 isn't to bad. Maybe offer $550 and bargain from there.

Alright I've checked the car out and it is in pretty good shape. I'm pretty much a newbie to the whole rotary scene so how much do yall think it would cost me to get the whole compression problem and apex seal fixed?

Would require a complete rebuild or buy one from a rotary engine builder or put a good used engine in it. Anywhere from $900 if you install a used engine yourself up to $3000 to pay someone to install a stock rebuilt engine. It can cost much more if your interested in performance mods or you have to replace the rotor housings(fairly common).
