Cool What would make my N/A run soooo rich?

Man, my '86 GXL N/A runs very rich. When I first start the car it pours white smoke, that burns your eyes with gas fumes. The smoke will stop after about 10 minuets of running, but the smell still lingers. I know the cats are all cleaned out, but would that be the cause of so much gas fumes? Would changing the cats help to resolve this or what else should I try to stop the foul smell? I have adjusted the idle, and it idles great once it warms up. I'm just hoping it isn't the blasted the fuel injectors. Is there anyway I can test the injectors, or I guess I could take them somewhere to get them cleaned. Thanks for your help, and any other suggestions would be great.

rotaries never smell good when you don't have a cat. I don't like driving my REPU in traffic because the smell catches up when I am stopped.

Thank goodness!! I'm willing to sacrafice alittle power to be able to breathe. Goodness, that crap will bring tears to your eyes if you sit long enough. I'll try the cat and see if it is more tolirable. Thanks!

the only thing that bothers me about your smoke problem is the color ... it should NOT be white if it's telling you you're running rich. it should be a charcoal color ... more gray to black.
