What should i get?

well i have about $500 store credit at a performance shop.
they only carry some companies, a couple are MSD, Energy Suspension, Suspension techniques, K&N, Tokico. so i have a 72 RX2 that i have started fixing up. so far i figure on buying a

K&N filter
some sort of MSD coils and a ignition box?
and some autometer guages
and maybe some new bushings

does anybody have any more specific things.
I basically need parts numbers and descriptions.

Thanks Matt22

MSD Coils are a good idea, get 3 if you ever want to do the Direct Fire set-up. I got Tokico's to work in my Rx2 front housings with a spacer (eventualy the housings will be cut down). 1st gen illumina's...I'm using extra stiff IT versions. Nothing from ST works....K&N is good but you need to know what carb setup you're going to use otherwise you'll be buying several. Electric fan and thermo=good idea. I'd go Autometer oil and water temp but I've broken too many plastic AND copper Autometer pressure lines to recommend them....I use an HKS oil pressure gauge. If you plan to do a braided line fuel system, stock up on fittings!

ya are you running them? if so which ones do you have, or which would you
suggest. I am a 2nd gen guy so I dont know much about th 12a's. I do
wonder if its gonna make a difference that it has the twin distributers though.
I think i am gonna get the e-fan, and the stock K&n Filter cause i will run the stock carb until i get a good deal on another one. maybe i will also get a oil pressure guage too,

Which are you referring? The MSD's? If so, I'm just running Blaster2 Coils...$35 each or so. One leading, One Trailing, with a 6AL box on the Leading side...but I also have a 13B single dizzy motor, I am guessing the coils would work the same on a twindizz 12a, you may want to ask on that one.

Stock replacement coils. As for pressure, it depends on your regulator in the motor. If you have a race reg. you will need to go above 100 on the gauge, most people run the high-performance reg. which is 85 psi, so a 100 psi gauge will work fine.

Never used a Centerforce...too much $$ for a clutch. I use a 6-puck with a sprung hub and a HD pressure plate. A little grabby but workable on the street. RB clutches are not too much $$ but don't last THAT long depending how you drive the car.

well i am gonna drive it like its meant to be drove and it might see a little autocross as well. and I go out and get a quater mile time at least once.

so the Blaster2's are basically a stock replacement coil? Yes?

well prices over there were a bit more than I expected, but I got all this for
$118 INSTEAD OF $518

Accel 8.8mm Plug Wires,
2 MSD Blaster2 Coils
Autometer Z-series Oil pressure guage
Autometer Z-series Water Temp Guage
K&N Filter
Hella 2500 Optilux Driving lights
Carr Hoop2 steps (for my dads Dodge Ram)

not that great of a deal but a k&n alone is anywhere from 50 to 60
including shipping. so thats that. I will jsut have to wait a week to get it
and then put it on. Lates matt22

The Blaster2's rate at much higher volts than stock which will burn more fuel at our high rpm level...unless you go direct fire these will be about as much as you need. I have heard the 2nd Gen coils work and have a good output but I've never tried. I would still like to dyno the DLIDFIS vs. two coils with MSD 6al's on each one...I have one 6al and am thinkiing about another, bascally for the rev limiter factor.

That's a good haul I guess...good wires, good gauges, more light is always a good thing, and if I know what a CarHoop2 for a Ram was I would probably give you props on that as well.

My '73 Rx2 is finally finished with a full respray and rebuild. What sucks is one of my newly pressed ball jonts magically slipped 1/2 way back out on the maiden voyage and my school **** has kept me from working on it. Feels strong though with a large Rotary Engineering streetport and newly installed tokico illumina IT's in the front....nice and stiff with the Ground Control kit! (hey..that rhymed!)
