wear on rotor directional

IM wondering if I could take a used rotor #2 and put it in as rotor #1. It will be spinning a differnt direction. Im wondering if the good used rotor with normal wear is ok to rebuild ,a nd have it spin the opposite direction?

I have 2 13bt s4 engines both with rotor #1 failed. Ive had a picky cyl engine building teacher, and he emphasized trying to spin all engine parts like they would when its running. Of course I will at least change out the bearing

both rotors spin in the same direction, so, what is it exactly that you want to know?

Yes, wear is directional, but I don't think it's imporant enough to worry about which way the rotor goes.

You can tell by the rotor face, especially if it was still using the stock oil injection, and the wear on the inner gear.

Be sure you put he right oil control ring springs in the right places. Changing the rotor front to rear means they'll be spinning a different direction.

They both spin the same direction BUT if i were to rebuild. It would spin opposite of the the way it used to because of the stationary gear. That is my question. Im rebuilding my engine with 2 13b's that blew rotor #1

So is it a bad idea to take the rear rotor and throw it in a rebuilt engine as #1 rotor? Then it will spin opposite of what it used to. All signs of wear in the rotor like the apex seal grove , and other parts would have different load on them now. Am I being too picky or do people do that for lots of rotary rebuilds? Thanks

It doesn't matter.
Unless the wear is really noticable...which in that case, you throw the rotor away!

if the rotors are still within spec, then you're wasting valuable rebuild time by worrying. use them. build it.
