Temp gauge just drop to almost cold!

Quick question: has anyone ever have their temp gauge drop to almost cold? I know damn well it's warm because I have been driving it for about 45 minutes tonight. Please help.

In my experience one of two things just happened: Either A) the wire to the sensor fell off/broke. Or B) you have a bubble in the system that decided to park over the sensor probe.
