Street Port 12A

Anyone out there ever pass an emmisions test with a street port engine with stock intake/exhaust components? I know that defeats the purpose but I am thinking of rebuilding with street port and keeping the stock intake and exhaust as a swappable setup for emissions test time then swaping to RB exhaust and undecided intake inbetween tests.

Anyone ever passed like this or think it would work? Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

Do you have to run it on the dyno for the emissions test there or is it a no load test?

I think it would actually be easier to move to a state that doesnt have emissions.

why can you pass CA smog (dyno) with a street ported 13b and not a 12a? carb vs efi? with all smog comp.

Fuel injection has a much more precise way to measure and adjust air/fuel mixture than a carb does.
I suppose that if you played around with the jetting and had access to a gas analyzer you could probably get the carb 12a to pass.

possible? probably ...

however, something tells me that you would have to jet and tune it so lean that it might be detrimental to the motor on the dyno.
