I can tell you how to pull codes off a 89-91 and can tell you what it means. I hope this helps. There is a single wire green connector by your battery box and leading coil. Ground this connector with the ignition off. Turn the ignition on but don't start. All your dash lights should come on but pay attention to your engine light. It blinks if there is codes. There's 73 codes. Here's how to read the codes.

Code 22. two long blinks followed by two short blinks.
On for 1.2sec, blink off, on for 1.2 sec, off for 1.6, on for 0.4sec, blink off, on for 0.4sec, off

multiple codes are displayed from lowest to highest and spaced by 4sec off.

Code 03. three short blinks.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you need to know what the code means.

I read back in through all the threads, and am not clear on exactly what has been swapped and what was reused from the old motor.

A good fast trick I use is I call the dealer and find out if part numbers are the same for the two years and models.
