sparks?!?!
Not much of a description. But, its possible the ground wire is not secured to the long bolt on the starter as it should be.
Its really a question of where are you seeing the sparks? Where on the starter????
What the deal is, is that the positive post on the battery runs straight to the starter. The ground wire runs from the battery negative post to the chassis, and then to the long bolt on the starter.
If either is loose, I can see where you might see a spark.
