Source for rebuild parts? What to replace?
Hey, just curious wheres a good place to get the parts needed for a rebuild on a 12b? And what things generally are a good idea to replace while I'm at it? (I'm assuming rotors and any seals I can find.) This will be my first rebuild of a rotary. I have done piston engines before if that means anything. These engines look fairly straightforward to rebuild.
welcome
you're partially right. they are pretty straightforward and it's definitely a good idea to replace as many seals (and their respective springs) as you can afford. however, i would not go about the rebuild haphazardly. i will assume you're on a budget, but if i'm wrong please correct me ...
here we go. first and foremost, you have to pull the engine apart and assess what is damaged and what is worn out. housings must be checked. the rotors and shaft will probably be alright as long as it wasn't a HUGE blowup! - but again, they must be carefully checked.

oh yeah ...
and to answer the source question:
for seals and springs:
Mazdatrix
Rotary Aviation
JHB Performance
for hard parts, check the For Sale sections and if they don't fetch anything, then Mazdatrix or JHB.
there are others, but i can't remember them all right now.
