seal recommendations

Hey everyone

I am putting together an engine for my FD here soon and want to elicit some advice from some folks with experience. I am looking for recommendations on seals for my build including soft and hard seals. It is a single turbo build that I am looking to get to around 500hp either on 91 pump with AI or e85, 93 is not available in my area so e85 is an attractive option. I am thinking about going with an atkins closing kit because they have everything in a kit for convenience but I am not opposed to piecing things together if that is the better option.

for seals I would like seals that are gentle on the housings and irons that will handle my hp and fueling goals, longevity is not a huge deal as I don't drive the car much and will probably build another engine on a bigger budget when I can take more time to do so. any advice is appreciated thanks.

i prefer all Mazda OE stuff, it works, its housing friendly, and they have quality control.

if you feel like it you could substitute apex seals for something else, although if you're not letting the engine detonate, there is no real point

thanks for your insight. the quality control factor is attractive and the OE seals that came out did well other than the detonation event. I should probably also have mentioned that the engine will be a half bridge based on a pineapple template. that said will the OE corner seals be ok for that or should I use a solid corner seal?

very nice, how are they on the irons? some folks say RA seals are a little rough on housings and irons.

This corner seals are not made by RA. When I talked to them they said that they are "not" made of the same metal as the Super seals, but again they didnt disclosed any info on what metal were used to make them.
I dont have the need of opening my engine yet to see how they are doing. The only corner seal i would stay away from are atkings.
as for the Apex seals (super seals) they are strong as hell (harsh on the rotor housing) maybe. That being said it realy depends on lubrication and temp of the engine.
now I am runing synthetic engine oil and pre- mix with super seals and this corner seals.
I have to see it for myself what is the effect with those changes.

If I were putting together an N/A engine that would be an Idea.

at any rate I ended up with an atkins closing kit with cryo treated side and corner seals and E&J apex seals. thanks for everyone's responses.
