Question Replacing front tranny oil seal

Does anyone know how to go about replacing this oil seal? I posted in the 2nd gen section and I didn't get any responses...so I thought I'd try my luck here. This is for an '88 TII. I read a comment from a thread that the input shaft needs to be removed in order for the seal to be replaced. Seems to make sense, but just wanted to confirm this before I do any unecessary dismantling of the transmission. And if so...any tips or links to a write-up for the procedure on that? Thanks in advance!

Nope. Pull the throw out bearing and arm out of the way. Remove the small cover over the input shaft. The seal is inside that cover.

Do you have to use any special tool to get it out? I am in there...just curious if you have any tips on how to remove it. I don't want to damage the input shaft or anything else for that matter.
