Rebuilding Questions For the Gurus

Ok, so this is cross posted from the 1st gen section, but I thought it should go here too since Id love to have tips or tricks from everyone - seeing as this is the one thing we all have in common, the engines!

I plan to still use oil to coat the housings and plates of course.

Also, I noticed that they talk about using petroleum jelly to hold seals in place on the rotors. Im sure that if I can use the assembly lube, I can accomplish this as well without the jelly. Good idea? I plan to still use the Jelly for the coolant seals and what not since I dont want that assembly lube floating around in the cooling system however, is that how its typically done?

Im sure I will have a few other questions, but these are all I can think of for now. Any input you have would be nice! Feel free to throw out tips or whatever as well. Thanks in advance!

Here's what Ihor and I use:

side plates, rotor housings, bearings, eshaft: assembly lube (we favor the red cling-type)
oil control o-rings, oil pump and chain, tension bolts and o-rings, rear stat gear o-ring: engine oil
coolant o-rings, dowel pin o-rings: Hylomar
corner seals: assembly grease
apex seals, corner seals: nada
Oil pan and lower engine mating surfaces (ie legs of rotor housings etc as per the FSM): Right Stuff Silicone (no gasket)
Front cover: metal mazda gasket
