Hello hello again folks. Some time ago last summer my car would trigger its alarm from nothing (parked, wasn't tampered with, and would go off on its own). My guess was the intense heat we were having. It stopped that after a while and was fine, until this morning.

Naturally, an angry letter from my neighbor(s) about the alarm (and starting the car to go to work in the morning) was left on the windshield. I've been playing with the horn a bit, disabling a couple wires so it can't go off but I have a hunch that won't fix my issue.

So, how can I disable the horn, and keep my alarm system? I don't mind so much the flashing lights, but I just want the horn gone and the ignition to disable itself as it should.

... Or disable the alarm all together, that would be fine too.

To unplug the alarm system you find the alarm control unit which I believe is under the passenger dash and simply unplug it. And you might have to jumper a wire at the Starter Cut Relay (Black/White wire in the four wire relay plug gets jumpered to the thicker of the two Black/Green wires).

Well, after hanging upside down for 20 min, I still am not seeing this theft-deterrent system.



There were two connectors I saw however, that were reachable from underneath the glove box. I had shined a light upward and saw maybe three or four other connectors, all seemingly unreachable without tearing out the glove box/dash.

Not sure if this helps my description any but in one of the connectors I could get to, were: a blue/white wire, a bigger black wire, two yellow wires going into the same spot, a bigger wire, and a red/yellow wire. For the second connector, was: blue/yellow wire, a bigger blue/white wire, a bigger red/yellow wire, and a yellow wire.

I had disconnected both of these one at a time and was still able to trigger the alarm system . Reconnected them and now I suppose I'm still on square one...

The alarm unit should be next to the passenger speaker/amplifier unit.

Took out what I thought would've been the alarm but it looked like a big circular fan (heating/air conditioning most likely).

I'm terribly sorry for being such a noob at this. By this point I'm willing to deal with a dashboard light. So is there maybe a way I can cut a wire or something at the hatch so that even though the car is locked at both doors and the hatch is closed, the car will think the hatch is open and will never trigger the alarm?

The unit you are looking for is Silver and has one plug w/17 wires. I believe you can ground the Brown/Yellow wire at the rear hatch switch which is part of the alarm system. The switch also has a Black wire. Doing so should disarm the alarm.
