open header

Would running open headers possibly damage a rotary engine? I know the exhaust note would sound like ****, but I was curious so I thought I would ask.

I dont see a problem with it. As long as you are running a header and a turndown pipe.

If you have a short pipe or and open exhaust to close to the ports you may warp a seal becouse of the extra o2. That is why a valve will warp in a piston enige with a cracked manifold.

I assume you are worried about condensation and bugs right? It is incredibly loud, if you have a ported exhaust i would not reccomend it, I ran my NA like that until i could replace the exhaust, I was half deaf after stopping after travelling 85MPH for 15 minutes.

It's very loud. I just drove mine w/ a racing beat header to an exhaust shop and absolutely couldnt stand it. Motor seems to be fine though. Good luck!

yes it's extremely loud, even more so with a ported motor, the more overlap like a Peripheral port, the louder it will be,my engine hits 125 db at idle.but to answer your question,no it will not hurt your motor, just your ears.

It's not a piston engine, the seals will not warp and there is very little chance of condensation causing rust due to mop system oiling all of the parts in the combustion chamber.

it doesn't sound bad, it sounds awesome. nothing like a ported rotary with only a racing beat road racing header.
