oil problem
I'm trying to replace everything that has to do with oil pressure. (oil pump, regulator, all bearings...) Can you replace the oil pressure valve in the front cover? I looked on mazdatrix and couldn't find it. Do I have to replace the front cover?

not the thermal pellet
Not the thermal pellet in the eccentric shaft. There is a oil valve under the front cover. I think its a over pressure relief valve. I thought it was similiar to the regulator in the rear housing but if you take it apart its completely different. The regulator though, you can replace the entire peice. This front cover valve slides up into the alluminum front cover, and I am assuming if it got really scored up by metal shavings and what not, that you would have to replace the entire front cover. Anyone ?
