Question Oil flow and pressure

Hey Guys,

just a stupid question which direction does the oil flow... from the front of the block (12a front) or the rear of the block (s8). I recently installed a remote oil filter and coolers and I'm not sure which way to connect the hoses.

The way they are at the moment my pressure guage show maxed out at 100psi, the oil is pretty thick, so I expect high pressure when the oil is cold. Is my guage broken or is 100psi realisic ?

cheers

G

Clear it up

Hopefully the below photo might clear up what I mean...

Are all the oil pressure hoses plumbed in correctly?

100 psi is good so don't worry about that.

Your system looks about like mine for plumbing routes. The only possible problem I can see is the direction through the remote filter. I don't know which way the oil goes through the filter, never worried about it, I just hooked up lines to the "in" and "out" ports. If you're sure about that part, you're all set.

thanks for the reply jgrewe,

but the oil filter is the question...

I want to make sure the oil flow starts from the front of the block, travels throught the oil cooler (in- outside hose -> out- inside hose) throught the coolers to the rear of the block...

That's what I can see in your picture. Its going to come out the front, into the filter, to the cooler, back to the engine.

The direction it flows through the filter material is the only thing I can't tell. Are there any arrows or anything on the remote mount?
