Oil Cooler Help

Who is running a Aftermarket or self installed Oil Cooler ?

Is it on the Tranny ? Engine ? PS ?

How do you have it set up and how big is it ?

Pictures ?

I am thinking about doing one. or all 3.
but where do i put it?
on Pushing or pulling line ?
or Run it into the pan ?
or other.

Anything would help.

A.J.

use your stock oil cooler ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i cannot stress this enough. if you have the top mount/beehive oil cooler, convert to a front mount oil cooler from an SE or 79-83 model rx-7.

i havent heard of any really. all rotaries have stock oil coolers. the ps doesn't really need a cooler. no place to fit one. also, do you have a manual trans or auto?

well maybe a little more info would help this situation...

ok... taking a 13b + 5spd OUT of a doner car...

and putting them IN a Tube frame Rock Crawler....

the PS is stock pump, but its a Jeep Box.

Tranny... well its a 5 spd, but i will be making heavy use of it. since the stock ratios to wheels are like 12 to 1 and the buggy will be more like 120 to 1

so 5th gear reved out will be doing like 10-15 mph

I just want to keep everything cool as possible. since avg speed will be about 0-3 mph

I don't know of any vehicle that has a cooler for manual tranny gear oil. The RX-7s with auto trannys have fluid going to the lower chamber of the radiator (seperate from the coolant passages of course) and the RX-7 power steering system has a fluid line extending to the front of the car. Its there to allow air to cool the fluid in the line before it returns to the system. At speeds of 3MPH, I don't know how efficient a P/S cooler would be.

the PS cooler is just a piece of U-shape aluminum tubing. its mounted on the tube/reinforcement in front of the A/C condenser.
