No fuel...No spark..

Ok guys I just finished installing a first time self rebuild as well as removed emissions using Rotary Resurrections guide. My car is an 88 turbo 10th AE if anyone needs to know. The car cranks, but I get no fuel or spark. The fuel pump is working, I pulled it out and cranked it while wired but unattached and it sprayed the fuel in it about 10 feet :P.

I pulled the plugs, no fuel on them, they were dry as can be. Then i put them against the metal on the intercooler and cranked the engine and I had no spark. So... What could the problem be?

Could the no fuel be caused by the fuel pressure regulator? I have it attached to the nipple on the inside of the LIM, the on that is angled towards the firwall in the middle of the LIM right above the oil injectors. That vacuum should work correct? As for the spark, is there some wiring i should look for?

Also could anyone post a picture of the knocksensor on the S4 turbo? I searched the forums and found locations for it, on the rear housing slightly higher than the plug holes, and several others but I have yet to find that thing! I have the sensor in my hand so I know I took it off lol.

Thanks for any help guys! I Appreciate it.

No spark and no fuel equals a blown ENGINE fuse. Remove and replace same.

Still no go...

Ok, i have checked the wiring harness and i have replaced the 80A fuse and the EGI Fuse for the fuel pump... Same problem, engine cranks strong, but no fuel or spark...

Any help would be appreciated, I am currently out of the states now but will be back in 2 weeks. Anything to try that I havent would be awesome, I want to try to finish up this car before classes next semester.

Thanks again guys! I can feel her wanting to start

It's spelled E N G I N E F U S E

It is located in the car near your left ankle.

EGI spells I G G Y, not engine.

Thumbs up

The knock detector can be on the rear housing or on the centre housing just under the oil filler it looks like a big nut with a wire out of the centre.

P.S. it doesn't kill the spark and fuel if it doesn't work!

Well guys I am back in the states and I checked the ENGINEFUSE and it is fine... Still no fuel or spark. Is there any other electronics that control this.. Like I said, I checked the fuel pump it is actually pushing fuel, but why isnt it making it to the engine? Maybe a kink or one of the emission vacuums wrong? (I removed emissions as I stated earlier)

I have been searching the forums for info about the Main relay, it seems quite possable that it could be the problem. Only problem, I cant find it. I am looking through the FSM and went through all the Main Relay post, no luck yet. I also found this yellow plug that comes off the wiring harness halfway between the fire wall and the intake. If you can visualize what I am saying, is that just for the air pump that I removed for emissions? (Looks in that area)

Ok guys, getting better. I finally got spark, it was a ground issue. Now the problem is fuel. I checked the fuel pump it is sending fuel. I checked all the fuses and all fuses are good. I just pulled the CAS and had the key on ON position and I turned it by hand. I could hear the injectors clicking. So I am assuming my injectors are fine and that somewhere there isnt fuel sent to the injectors. What could cause this? Pressurizing the fuel system? Bad vacuum source to the FPR? Maybe something not pluged in on the ECU or wiring harness? Anything you guys can give some info on would be much appreciated. I been searching and will be searching as your are reading this probably. Thanks for the help

Sorry It wouldnt let me edit.. I just wanted to state that my fuel lines are hooked up correctly from the fuel pump to the filter to the rail and back to the tank. If the pump is working and the injectors are clicking and the lines are hooked up correctly, then in theory shouldn't it be getting fuel? Maybe it is and I just dont smell it on the spark plugs? Could it just be an issue of timing? Please any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks again

Any input? I also found that my throttle body had a huge leak where the intake manifold connects to it. The intake manifold was cracked and had an opening bigger than a 50 cent piece. That could also be a problem correct? =P. I got a new intake manifold on the way. If I put it on and it still doesnt start, does anyone have any other suggestions? ( have to wait till the weekends to work on it cause its out of town, so I would like to get a list of things to go out there with.)

I appreciate the help, thanks again.

i can't remember the Gen II cars very well, but if there is more than one fuel line, make sure that they are not reversed.
