Just bought a 1991 RX-7...Been sitting for 8 months with no waterpump or front cover

First post here...Hello everyone!

Alittle background information...I bought the car yesterday for $500. Problem with it is, it's been sitting for 8 months with no waterpump or oil chain cover bolted on. The previous owner took it apart and couldnt figure out how to get it back together again.

My request is a quick step-by step write up on how to put this thing back together. WHere is a good place to order the gaskets and seals for this engine?

I mainly need to figure out how to get the oil chain cover back on. Waterpump looks easy if I can get the damn gasket for it. Would RTV gasket maker work for this application?

Thats about it right now...Thanks in advance.

I would recommend downloading the part from the FSM you need at www.fc3s.org .

The only place to get good gaskets is from Mazda. They are cheap and if you have somewhat of a competant dealer they should be able to order them. Just make sure they get the RIGHT gaskets. Maybe bring in the part numbers for them or call an aftermarket shop like Mazdatrix and get them from them.

p.s. I would not use RTV junk anywhere you can get a real gasket. I hate that junk.
