how hot is hot?

Breaking in my half BP 12A just wondering and where should the temp sender be waterpump housing or by the heater outlet and oil sender? And how hot is shut it off hot!

#1..are you talking about the Stock temp gauge?..
#2.are you asking about the Sender location?
#3..anything over 220 is MAX that I will run,on my way to shut Down..Quick!
.My Ideal temp at running is about 185-195.I'm not afraid at 205 but after that?, it is hurry to shut it off.I went 230 but that was my mistake and for about 30 seconds!...I happened to have the fan off.

I put a mechanical sender in the top rear of the engine, by where the coolant nipple for the throttle body is on injected cars. I carefully drill it out and tap for 1/4" NPT.

If I shut down at 220 then I would have missed a lot of events. I use low torque on the tension bolts and run it to 235ish before I freak out. That's coincidentally enough just before the H mark on the stock FB temp gauge. I know, because I intentionally ran the engine that hot to find out
