You can do anything you want, but to do a four rotor you will need a lot of time and a lot of money.

it's also ghetto and likely siezed up the bearings after a short drive, because the stock oil pump doesn't flow enough volume to deal with the needs of whole 'nother engine so the back half is starving. not to mention the main shaft adapter is probably a keyway, which will shear under enough of a load. nor will it have efficient rotor timing like a true 4 rotor engine will, which is why it sounds like a lopey V8 versus a smooth real timed 4 rotor(i'd have to guess it has both engines firing at the same time to cut down on the need for realk engine management system and figuring out perfect timing scenarios, also splitting the injectors into 2 pairs versus singles which will burn out the ECU injector drivers).

there is just way too much wrong with this setup to go wrong, and probably why you only see this one video floating around and none of it actually moving under it's own power.

it could be done though, a better example and one that has worked is granny's speedshops combination of 2 2 rotor engines. keep in mind, they are a full race machine shop and have the tools to make it work. to also get more ideas you can collaborate with the wolvo 4 rotor project on this forum, who also works at a machine shop and has access to tools to make it work, however i do see some speedbumps in his project as well.

it's much cheaper, easier and less headache to just get the iron and e-shaft from a 3 rotor engine and simply build one from there. 4 rotors are all custom built and can be QUITE costly and time consuming assuming you have the skills and equipment to even put it to use.

Yes it's been done...

But you need some serious welding skills, and ever more machining skills. On top of some real deal ingenuity...

Saying that, I am working on it now...

Got a notebook full of sketches and measurements. It's more of a side project. It will be a while before I complete it.

Just gut the rear and put in one two rotor turbo per back tire. Done.

I agree that the video i posted is of a ghetto setup, just wanted to show the guy that it could be done home made. I much prefer the way scoot did their 4 rotor which in their video sounds like what you described like a F1 car. Question didnt mazda make a 4 rotor for a lemans car?

Mazda made a couple versions of a 4 rotor for Lemans. The 26B is the most famous.

(meanwhile)

...and they used a single, stock oil pump as well.

i'm surprised the rear bearings were getting sufficient lubrication. i am sure they did have to mill out all of the passages through the engine and raise the spring pressures to compensate, basically utilizing 100% of the pump versus the stock 13B bypass system which only uses about 65% of the pump.
