my engine wont start. i wonder, i hear no sound from the fuel pump. do you think there should always be a sound from the oil pump? im 100% sure in all my other rotaries there was a sound. its an rx4 auto 12a twin dizzy coupe, pump is original. please do reply either here or dr50376272@gmail.com

If you have the stock fuel pump, it's not loud enough to hear when it primes. Test to make sure you can build fuel pressure by testing your fuel system. Doing this will run the pump full and you'll hear the lines pressurizing. Jumper the FP and GND terminals in the diagnostic port inside the engine bay, then turn your key in the ignition to ACC.

 

what replacement pumps for rx4 are good? i can find nissan silvia cheap. thanks !

 

Sorry, I didn't read that it was an RX4. Try pulling the pump and connecting it to a power source to see if it runs. If it does, your problem is elsewhere.
