Fuel or spark cut at over 1/2 throttle??

Fuel or spark cut at over 1/2 throttle??
Ok guys. When i rev my 1991 vert over 1/2 throttle no matter what rpm or gear (even in neutral) i get a huge ear popping backfire. And it like bogs out. Kinda feels/sounds like when you run out of gas. Let me know thanks
